A 2#5100m ³ blast furnace in a steel plant in Shandong has been subjected to local abnormal erosion of the furnace cylinder, gas flow and raw material scouring, and irregular shedding of the furnace body lining for a long time. In order to optimize the operation of the blast furnace, the blast furnace was repaired and stopped on May 25, 2023.
For the first time, the project also adopted the "environment-friendly filling type furnace stopping and releasing residual iron method" to successfully release 611 tons of residual iron and completely release the residual iron, reaching the advanced level of releasing residual iron from large blast furnaces with the same furnace capacity.
In March 2013, 1#2300m ³ of a steel mill in Liaoning Province began to deteriorate in furnace type, with damage to steel bricks and cooling walls in furnace throat, high water temperature difference in local cooling walls in Tiekou area, reduced smelting intensity of blast furnace, and increased fuel ratio, which made it impossible to maintain normal production. West China carried out a comprehensive overhaul of the blast furnace body. Through the protective grill, the structural integrity of uneroded carbon bricks was greatly protected, the eroded carbon brick is repaired by using Huaxi high thermal conductivity castable, which shortens the construction period and saves nearly one million yuan in maintenance cost. The side wall of the furnace cylinder is cast as a whole by using Huaxi HX-RJ.
